We're Hiring: Director of Human Resources

DonahueFavret Contractors, Inc., is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of our HR function. This is a department of one role responsible for developing and executing people strategies that support the company’s culture, people-first values, and long-term goals.

Ideal candidates for the Director of Human Resources position will work independently, handle crucial conversations with ease, and bring professional, practical solutions-oriented leadership to a close-knit team. This role oversees all HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, and culture initiatives. Experience in the commercial construction industry or a closely related field is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as the primary point of contact and advisor on all HR-related matters.

· Provide strategic HR leadership aligned with company values and growth goals.

· Lead HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee development, and retention.

· Advise senior leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and employee engagement strategies.

· Promote a high-performance culture through effective performance management and development programs.

· Oversee compliance with labor laws and internal policies; lead HR reporting and audits as needed.

· Develop and track key HR metrics to support data-driven decisions.

· Champion initiatives that foster a strong, inclusive workplace culture.


Education

· Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

· Preferred: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field

· Certifications: SHRM-CP/SCP and/or PHR/SPHR strongly preferred

Experience

· Minimum: 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources

· Preferred: 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in the commercial construction industry or similar field
