Pre-engineered metal building delivered next to active school campus.
DonahueFavret Contractors was selected on a competitively priced bid for the addition of a covered play area at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic School. The project was a pre-engineered metal building structure that abutted an adjacent classroom building. Pile driving, concrete foundation and steel erection scopes were completed less than 10 feet away from the occupied school building. This took a tremendous amount of coordination with the school operations staff and the DFC field staff and subcontractors. Safety and jobsite security were paramount in this project.
The project had automatic basketball goal equipment, specialized plastic sports flooring and cementitious fiber roof decking for noise control. Another main challenge on this project was rerouting of existing underground utilities. This all had to be coordinated and completed afterhours to maintain operations during school.
