Tight schedule drives completion of this phased hotel renovation.
DonahueFavret Contractors was selected to perform preconstruction and construction services to convert the existing W Hotel to a Le Meridien flag. The preconstruction efforts mainly focused on product selection and associated lead times. The schedule was paramount for this project.
Our scope included the first and second floor public spaces. In the first phase we added one full service bar and a three meal restaurant/bar/kitchen. We also replaced all of the main MEP systems including switchgear, outside air units and fan coil units. The first phase had to be complete in 90 days. Over $750,000 of high-end millwork was installed in the final 27 days by working around the clock. The phase completed on time and allowed the hotel to officially open under the Le Meridien flag.
The second phase consisted of elevator lobbies on the first and second floor, highend check-in desks, a second restaurant, two large ballrooms and breakout meeting rooms. The second phase was also completed on time and within the allotted budget. All phases of the project were conducted in an occupied and operational hotel.
