Embassy Suites Public Space Renovations
DonahueFavret Contractors was selected for preconstruction and construction services at the Embassy Suites Hotel in the Warehouse District in New Orleans. The DFC team worked closely with architect Markley Mills of Delawie during preconstruction to determine phasing, product selection, value engineering, and constructibility reviews.
The project was broken into two phases, both of which were fast-tracked. The first phase consisted of a complete renovation of the existing atrium, public restrooms, a new three-meal kitchen, and all associated MEP/Kitchen equipment. The phase also included a complete renovation of the pool and pool decking. A new 1,000-gallon grease trap was added to serve the new bar and restaurant.
The second phase consisted of the entry glass canopy, historic wood storefronts, entry lobby, and check-in area. All existing MEP systems were replaced. All phases of construction were done while the hotel was open and operational.
